Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We had an appointment of 3:15 pm, we were impressed that we were called back at about 3:25 pm. We were surprised that a government agency gave us very little wait time. The interview was about 30 mins and the agent was very friendly, we even did some sarcasm and laughing at times. Most questions, as expected, were directed at my foreign spouse. We went to the interview with more documentation that the checklist had asked for, so whenever the agent asked for some kind of documentation, we had no trouble providing. For working with government officials it was actually a pleasant experience. I wish other government places had the same efficiency and friendliness as this local office had.

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I had our adjustment of status interview today. Word of advice, if you have a lawyer, make sure your lawyer comes with you to the interview. Our lawyer came and it was the best decision asking her to come with us. The officer we had was efficient, nice and respectful. He asked us questions based on the forms and how and where we met. We brought pictures from the beginning of our relationship that had details and dates on the back including our wedding/honeymoon pics, which he went thru. We had so many documents to back up our marriage and he didn’t ask for many of them. We were approved at the end of the interview. Just because we had a nice interviewing officer doesn’t mean they are all like that. So just make sure you bring all your documents and pictures to back up your marriage and definitely bring your lawyer. Also dress nicely and respectfully. Oh and you will be watched from the waiting room and as you leave the building. Wishing everyone the best... read complete review

Our officer made us feel at ease in going through the interview. While it is obviously a serious appointment, she was able to bring the slightest bit of levity to the situation. Part of that may be that when we submitted our packet, we had an abundance of documentation proving our legitimacy. We also walked into the appointment with a ton of documents, many that we ended up not needing for the appointment. However, I think it was good, as it is always better to have and not need than to need and not have. All in all, it was a painless appointment and went smoothly!

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

We are K1 filers that went through EAD/AP biometrics and AOS through the Phoenix office. While processing times appear to be very slow in Phoenix, the actual office itself appears to be well-run. In both our biometrics and AOS visits, everyone was nice, friendly and professional, and we have nothing at all to complain about.

Our case officer made a point to put us at ease, and went through all the interview questions thoroughly. He combined some of the questions (especially all those "are you communist" ones) so that one "no" covered all of them to save time. Our interview was mostly just a conversation where he watched how we interacted.

We were a bit surprised on our AOS visit by the length of the security line. It wasn't huge, but it did take us about 10 minutes to get through due to a number of families being processed. During our biometrics visit security probably didn't even take a minute to get through. Definitely make plan to arrive early just in c... read complete review
